Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum: '21 Jump Street' Is Based on 'Superbad'

ALTOne is a newly Oscar-nominated thespian. The other, an actor having a year that could catapult him to the A-list. Together, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum make 21 Jump Street and unexpectedly hilarious action comedy, a movie that turns the tired nostalgic tv-show-to-movie concept on its head from minute one and wallops the audience with a fury of R-rated laughs. The movie is a pleasant surprise, considering all the gambles: it's the first movie Hill had a hand in writing, Tatum's first real comedy lead role and a pair of directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller(Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs), untested in the world of live-action filmmaking.

Thankfully, it all played out smoothly.
I sat down with Hill and Tatum to find out how high school has changed since they survived those pivotal four years, the importance of gun safety and if the duo is ready for more 21 Jump Street adventures if this movie is a success. The phrase "cray cray" is used liberally by all.
